„...To listen to the Tecchler Trio’s playing is an ongoing pleasure, so it was as well in Frank Martin’s „Trio On Irish Folk Tunes“ with its sparkling harmonic appeal and straight rhythmic drive. And without any problems the three musicians know how to switch from Martin’s sharp colours to the warm sentiment in Dvorak’s trio in G Minor, tastefully enjoyed to the full. Again there is the precision in their playing, cheered by youthful and high-spirited self-confidence. First class!“

"The Tecchler Trio absolutely proofed its fantastic reputation to be true. (...) After only two years of working together they have reached a level of mastery with a perfect sound balance and an ideal fine tuning between the three instruments. However, these qualities only underline their lively and exciting way of music making..."

"The winning of the German Music Competition represents a significant step forward in the work of the young piano trio, which named itself after David Tecchler, the leading violin maker in Rome around 1700.
The cellist Maximilian Hornung, who plays an instrument of this master, the violinist Esther Hoppe and the pianist Benjamin Engeli have only been a trio for one year. This is all the more remarkable when one hears the wonderfully balanced sound and the intuitive ensemble playing that they have achieved in such a short time. (...) Their passionate and daring performance of Johannes Brahms` C major trio was the highlight of the prize-winners´concert!"

"TECCHLER TRIO SHINES IN WARTEGG"

"The expectations in the young musicians, two of whom are winners of prestigious prizes, were high. They more than fulfilled them. In Schloss Wartegg they proved that they all are masters of their instruments. But the manner in which they interpretated the three very different and not easy works was even more impressive than their technical ability. We have rarely experienced a concert by young people which captivated the audience so thoroughly."

"YOUTHFUL FIRE AND ARTISTIC HARMONY"

(...) Although these three young musicians frequently appear as soloists, their concert in Dinkelscherben was marked by congenial ensemble playing. They breathed together and made music together.
This was already apparent in the „Trio Über irische Volksweisen“ by Frank Martin. In the Allegro the three rhythmically opposed parts were perfectly together with one another. In spite of the high technical demands that Frank Martin makes of the performers, the impression of folk music simplicity pervaded without artificial pathos. In the Gigue the three soloists appeared to fire each other on with infectious joy. They retained their breathtakingly harmonic ensemble playing even in the furious final.
The Trio in E flat maj op. 100 is THE piano trio by Schubert. The 3 musicians perfomed it with youthful temperament, judiciously applied throughout this work of almost symphonic dimensions. The sometimes abrubt changes between folk music-like warmth and dramatic, almost tragic outbreaks were masterfully formed. It was delightful to see the obvious fun that Esther Hoppe, Benjamin Engeli and Maximilian Hornung had in their work together (...)
Great artistic harmony - a repeat performance would be most welcome."
