Esther Hoppe, born in Zug (Switzerland), is among the most sought-after musicians of her generation, winning the International Mozart Competition in Salzburg in 2002.

Her career to date took her to the Music Festivals of Ravinia and New Mexico (USA), Prussia Cove (England), Davos, Gstaad, Ittingen, Lucerne and Zurich (Orpheum Musikfesttage) and she has been repeatedly offered the opportunity to perform with orchestras including the Zurich Chamber Orchestra, the Basel Chamber Orchestra, the London Mozart Players, the Göttinger Symphony Orchestra, among others.

Her teachers were Thomas Füri at the Musikakademie in Basel, Robert Mann and Ida Kavafian at the renowned Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia and Yfrah Neaman at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. In 2007 she finished her studies as a student of Nora Chastain’s at the Musikhochschule in Zurich. Other important influences came from master classes with Lorand Fenyves, Isaac Stern and Leon Fleisher.

Thanks to the financial support shown by the Zuger Kantonalbank, Esther Hoppe plays on a Balestrieri violin made in 1760.
